Suspect Tossed Gas In Tavern Killing Dozens
Witnesses say a man entered a crowded Mobery tavern on a Friday, spread gasoline, lit a match, and fled. Twelve people died trying to escape the blaze. William Edward Coleman, 36, ex convict, surrendered to police and faces murder charges. Clifford Balzone said charges would be lodged. The tavern was in a Randolph Hotel building. Ten ex convicts were on the no serve list displayed on the back bar. Coleman’s name appeared on the list but he was allowed entry earlier. The fire trapped patrons at a back door. four escaped via the front.

Three Freed U. S. Airmen Head Home

Strangler Suspect Arrested in Gaffney Case
