Poisoned hot dogs threaten child in Florence
An eight year old boy in Florence South Carolina was in critical condition after eating a hot dog laced with deadly poison. Police found two more poisoned wieners in the same block as frightened parents kept children indoors. Dr J L Bruce said the meat contained at least five grains of strychnine, and milk helped save the boy’s life.

Pauline T. Hacker, 32, an Indianapolis housewife reported missing and feared dead, returned to her home unharmed after police searched all day Thursday. A stolen car with a broken window, found with glass splinters nearby, was linked to the case. Hacker said she and a woman friend spent hours at a social hall near the car’s location.
