Triple Murder Discovered in Gary Area
Three young Chicago men, partners in a correspondence school, were found shot to death in Gary and Portage Indiana after a missing persons report. Lawrence Foley, 28, was found in his car near the police station. James Biederman, 30, and Daniel Tobias, 29, were found behind an abandoned motel along U.S. 20. Police reported they had been picked clean and were last seen Tuesday night with Foley. The partners were described as successful and not mob-linked, with plans to issue $100 soon. Vice Squad Arrests Woman As Prostitute
Mary Grigsby 32 of 431 13th St. was arrested by city vice squad near 3rd and Craft Streets about 9 30 p m Friday in the first arrest by the new unit. She was jailed then released on 500 bond awaiting city court. Investigators say she may have been aided by a male accomplice and that more arrests could follow. The driver of the taxicab involved was questioned and released. no company involvement alleged.
