Indicted December 4 for the shotgun slaying Brooks had been in custody since January 17 after collapsing en route to Vigo Circuit Court. He told nurses I want to die and I have nothing to live for then described how he shot his sleeping wife.
The Soviet news agency Tass says Premier Khrushchev is at the Black Sea resort Sochi. He received Brazilian interim chargé d'affaires Roberto Assumpcao de Araujo there marking his first public sighting in nearly a month.
