Arrest Ends Girl's Plot To Blacken Policemen
A 15 year old girl in South Bend Indiana was arrested after a two month telephone campaign aimed at policing officers wives. Juvenile Probation Officer Gordon Weist said she phoned officers during duty hours claiming dates with their husbands and attempted to entice wives into conversations. A patrolman who received such a call arranged a sting with another officer and the girl was seized as she appeared. Police also suspect she called school teachers posing as a mother to obtain student absences.
