Johnsons approve Luci Lucis engagement at ranch

President Johnson approves engagement of his 18 year old daughter Luci to Air Force enlisted man Pat Nugent a 22 year old Catholic. They became engaged at a Christmas Eve party at the LBJ Ranch near Johnson City Texas after Nugent presented a three diamond ring to the President. Nearly 100 foreign dolls decorate a Scotch Pine in Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Banass Terre Vista residence. Holiday Toll On Highways Climb Steadily

The Associated Press reports a sharp rise in traffic deaths during the extended Christmas weekend. Through 6 p.m. Thursday 282 people have died in crashes, with hazardous roads from snow and ice. Christmas Eve 1965 Dampens None as City Crowds Enjoy Holiday Events

Rainy mild weather set an April like mood on Christmas Eve 1965 while thousands filled downtown Terre Haute for shopping and motoring.
