Man Gets 120 Day Sentence For Shoplifting

William H Wetter 31 of 1610 Fifth Avenue was sentenced to 120 days at the penal farm after pleading guilty to petit larceny. Judge Pro Tem Ralph Berry fined him $18. Police say Wetter previously served time for burglary and indecent exposure in 1956. He was seized Friday night after a chase.

Slashed to Death in West Side Pool Room

Willie Mahone, 38, was killed in an argument over a 50 cent loan in a west-side pool room. Police sought Robert Jones, 47, after Mahone reportedly threatened payback. Mahone was slashed in the altercation.
