Three Police Wounded in Raid on Black Panthers HQ

Los Angeles AP. Black Panthers barricaded their main headquarters and exchanged gunfire with police. Three officers were wounded as a 300 member task force surrounded the headquarters a former store opposite Wrigley Field. After a pre dawn raid officers issued a surrender ultimatum with only one man complying. Grenades were later tossed at police. Authorities believed at least four others were inside the building. Police said the raids were not connected to other Panther confrontations.
