State Health Needs Discussed by Dr Yoho in Indiana
Dr. Robert Yoho, director of health education, said the State Board of Health has not endorsed all proposed 1969 public health bills. He outlined priorities for local legislators and noted a plan to authorize state grants to local health departments, with $10,000 per qualifying unit, shifting funds from federal sources to prevention. He warned the future of Rockville’s Chest Diseases hospital hinges on 1969 action and called for annual X ray tuberculin tests for school personnel and tougher meat and poultry inspections aligned with the Federal Wholesale Act.
