In San Marino California a fresh mining crew 75 feet below the surface works to bore from a rescue shaft to the 14 inch abandoned well casing trapping three year old Kathy Fiscus since yesterday afternoon. Fire Chief Jimmy Bolt of Pasadena says there is a chance she is alive as drills near the 100 foot mark. Oxygen is pumped down the 14 inch casing while two drill teams race to reach the child.

George C. Kaelber 19 of 642 West Jackson Street died at Clay County Hospital from a fractured skull after his motorcycle collided with an auto driven by David F. Lewis of 834 West Knight Street on Jackson Street near Hoosier Street. Kaelber was thrown to the brick pavement. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kaelber.
Superior Judge Clay A. Phillips postponed a ruling on a temporary injunction in the Honey Creek township tuition dispute. Fourteen students will remain in class until judgment on April 18. The case concerns tax free tuition for pupils living on federal property.

One spy remains at large Feda Linton vanished when the case broke.
Union and Terre Haute Brewing officials sought an early settlement after the bottlers walked out on the last shift. Superintendent Raymond Harris said production should not be materially affected and noted the bottling plant is usually closed over the weekend. George Hage of the CIO Brewery Workers Union had no comment.
