The St Augustine Herald notes an express mail from Port King to Brig. Gen. Clinch in Florida was ambushed near the Thashob mud bridge on the 6th. A pursuit failed. chiefs convened to seek justice.

In Bingdon Virginia Sept 5 Thomas Hunt confined in Russell County jail escaped Wednesday eve ning after being admitted for trial at the next Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery in Russell County. Hunt a 27 or 28 year old man of slender build and dark complexion stands about six feet. One upper front tooth is broken. Authorities say he is among the most consum rare scoundrels and every effort should be used to bring him to justice.

Richmond Ky Sept 5 Judge Peter W Taylor of this county in a fit of mental derangement shot his nephew Talion Turner and his cousin Samuel Coons as they approached his dwelling. Turner was struck in the right breast and the wound is believed mortal with a pistol loaded with a large ball and buckshot. The report comes from Farmer's Chronicle.
In Easton on September 3, 19th century report records a severe accident involving two Christman daughters from Saucon township Northampton county. A light wagon drawn by one horse carried them to town. on the return trip near South Easton a mishap occurred. The elder was 19 and the younger 13. both were among those injured in a distressing event.
The Fayette Missouri Democrat reports Gen Ignatius P Owen of Fayette shot yesterday around 2 pm by Joseph Davis with a pistol. Owen died instantly from a through heart wound. Davis stands trial. Also notes a Baltimore boy fell from a four story window, waking with minor injuries.
