Publisher GEO. HOWARD announces a five volume Comprehensive Commentary on the Bible featuring notes from Henry, Scott, Doddridge, Gill and others. Subscriptions are urged, with volumes priced at 3 dollars each and bound in sheep or calf options, including engravings and maps.
The Hartford County Silk Society executive committee starts a monthly periodical called the Silk Culturist and Farmer's Manual. It aims to teach mulberry cultivation silk worm rearing cocoon production and silk reel ing using the best methods. In New York the late Annual Meeting opened with a Report noting growth of anti slavery societies from fifty to two hundred and that under this society's direction two hundred twenty two thousand copies of various works were distributed to promote their object.

Miss Ann Horner won 2000 dollars in damages at the Circuit Court in Freehold Monmouth county against Thos C Harrison Esq a Justice of the Peace for slanderous words repeated by him. The defense acknowledged weakness and did not address the jury. Newark Daily Adv.
A CPA suit in the U S District Court arises from a six to nine month old case of fraud on the United States Bank by forged checks totaling over 6000 dollars. The Drew family was implicated. the two sons confessed and were convicted, while the father was released and now sues the city mayor to recover 6010 dollars found on him at arrest. Experienced counsel are engaged in the case.
A Savannah spectacle reports Mr Campbell has devised a water walking dress and will perform from a river platform in Augusta. He plans to stay submerged ten to fifteen minutes and, if currents permit, walk to shore with full use of his limbs, witnessed from the bridge.
