The Tarborough Press states weekly publication at two dollars fifty cents per year with deliv ence and three dollars after one year. For periods under a year, twenty five cents per month. Advertisements over sixteen lines cost six cents for the first insertion and two cents per line for each continuation. Letters to the editor must be prepaid.
The examination of the seminary will take place on Friday the 16th at the subscriber's residence. Parents and guardians are invited to attend. The institution's exercises will recommence on a later date.
The Savannah Republican reports Capt Hebbard news from Florida describing Gen Jesup's forces capturing 16 Oscola enslaved people at Black Creek and 36 more on the 11th, including Primus the spy. Oscola ill in cave near Withlacoochee. Reports say Primus to be hanged. Indications of Indian signs between Black Creek and Newnansville and troop movements near Withlacoochee. Fresh Creek hostility and fires near Columbus with plantations burned and casualties. militia pursuit underway.
Gen Wool returns from Valley River and heads to the Cherokee Agency en route to New Echota. North Carolina Indians oppose the treaty and may be forced from their lands. Chiefs refused arms unless they submit to the treaty. Discontented groups move into North Carolina, fearing disruption and potential force. No current hostilities, but force is considered likely. Tennessee Journal reports.

The New York Corner and Enquirer reports a city quarrel between Jo. S. Jones of Shocco and F. W. Randolph of Camden City, NC. Randolph queried Jones via the Enquirer. Jones called the claims false, knocked Randolph down with a flat hand, and allegedly shattered a wine glass over Randolph’s head. Randolph sues for damages.
The article notes Mr. Kinne Morgan of Cabarrus County was stabbed on Friday by one of his enslaved workers. After a dispute over wagon wheel placement, Morgan allegedly shoved the man, who then seized a knife and stabbed him in two places including the hip.
A coach carved from the wood of the Constitution was built in Amherst and gifted to General Jackson as a New Year present. It was funded by contributions from several gentlemen in the city and is now in Washington, packed for transport on New Year’s morning.
