The Tarborough Press lists weekly publication at two dollars and fifty one per year if prepaid or three dollars at year end. For periods under a year, twenty five cents per month. Advertisements up to a square cost one dollar for the first insertion and twenty five cents per continuation. Court orders and judicial ads cost twenty five percent above base rates. Letters to the editor must be post paid.
A lyrical plea of ardent passion addressed to a lady, confessing the speaker’s overwhelming gaze and the beauty he finds in her features. He acknowledges danger in pursuing desire but cannot resist the pull of her azure eyes and enchanting smile, praising her brow cheek and dimpled chin as graceful and captivating.
In the Washington Republican style letter, the piece questions the suppression of a Whig resolution. It notes a Unanimous Whig Convention approval and accuses the North State Whig of omitting the call for punishing nonperforming Whigs. A dramatic robbery in Columbus Georgia on the 14th saw three or more masked men enter the Western Insurance and Trust Company at closing time, overpowering staff to reach the vaults. A reward of five thousand dollars is offered for recovery or information. No physical descriptions were provided due to disguises.

A Morris County farmer David Morehouse sues William Kendall of New Providence for seducing his daughter under false pretenses. After a patent trial Kendall’s estate valued at 1200 dollars, the jury awards 1500 dollars, likely exhausting Kendall’s resources and leaving a balance to be paid from future earnings.
An elderly French widow in St Landry parish died after general debility. Moments before passing, she told her children she had buried fourteen thousand dollars near her corn crib years ago. After the funeral, the money was found buried at that spot by her heirs.
A Boston paper recounts a spirited young woman who endured insults from a persistent suitor. After arming herself with cayenne pepper and snuff, she threw the powder into his eyes when he approached again, delivering a harsher reception than anticipated.
News from Jackson reports William H Shelton president of the Brandon Bank and ally of the South’s “Nick Biddle” died by his own hand near Pearl River. He allegedly aided Graves in state warrant speculation, borrowing about 6000 to aid Graves and Graves fled with state funds. Crane sought repayment but Shelton did not refund. Shelton’s examination preceded Graves’s arrest, where Shelton swore he had no money dealings with him.
