The notice warns of penalties for overlong notices and outlines publication costs per line, with directions to address the editor for amendments or discontinuances.
A subscriber proposes to publish The Anson Advertiser in Wadesborough Anson County NC. The prospectus outlines politics agriculture internal improvement literature and science coverage with fair reporting and open press to both parties. Terms include imperial sheet price per year in advance cash rates for advertisements and monthly or arrears payments, with communications postpaid to William Eb Bird dated Feb 2 1855.

A subscriber in Greensborough outlines a new weekly called the Citizen to supply home reading and domestic news. It pledges wide coverage of agriculture, internal improvements, education, government politics, law, literature, and general news, with aims to elevate the state press and rival Northern publications.
A pledge from the editors at Greensborough dated January 1 1885 vows unwavering dedication to freedom of thought and press. It proclaims readiness to scrutinize those in power, reject corruption, and uphold constitutional law while inviting two thousand subscribers for the new weekly paper with detailed subscription and advertising terms.
