Tarboro Scaevola proposed as democratic weekly paper

Tarboro in Edgecombe County North Carolina hopes to publish a weekly titled Tarboro Scaevola led by M Edward Manning printed by Manning. It pledges to cover politics commerce agriculture internal improvements medicine literature and science defending democracy and promoting Van Buren Johnson and Jackson like policies. First issue May 10 1857 with subscriptions at 3 per year.

Farewell Address of Andrew Jackson to the People of the United States
