Canon Church Hit By Sudden Fire
The Canon Brethren Church suffered a sudden fire late Monday. A rear frame section was badly damaged but a fire wall and adobe kept flames from spreading with Taos Volunteer Firemen on scene. Pastor Rev. Sam Horney pegs damage at about 500 dollars from fire and smoke. Services will move to the community youth building until repairs. The alarm came from Rev. Horney after he saw flames on his return from Holy Cross Hospital.

Methodists Meet Tuesday at Church School Conference
The Methodist Church will host a workers conference Tuesday night led by Dr. Bryan Jal of El Paso and Dr. Hall, executive secretary of the New Mexico Conference Board of Education. A 6 30 p.m. potluck precedes talks evaluating progress in church school plans and the two month program to increase membership and attendance with classes for all ages.
