Police raid on hippies continues in New Mexico
State Police reported ongoing actions in a hippie raid with suspects including Craycraft and Khaarla Peterson. By Tuesday noon all but Peterson and Craycraft had bonded out. Craycraft faced a federal narcotics warrant in California and was ordered to Santa Fe penitentiary pending further orders, while Peterson remained jailed awaiting a preliminary hearing. Possession of marijuana in New Mexico is a felony requiring proof of possession and knowledge.

Navy NROTC College Aid Open. Tests Set Dec 14
The Navy invites male high school seniors and recent graduates to apply for the twenty third annual Regular NROTC qualification test to be held December 14. About 1,700 will enter the program as midshipmen at three colleges nationwide. Applicants must be US citizens age 17 to 21 by June 30, 1969, with further steps including interviews and medical exams. Successful candidates receive four years of financial aid and later commission as officers. Long Day for Two Teachers at State Fair Trip
Margery Howe reports a long day for teachers Maxine Grindstaff and Honorio Rael guiding fifth and sixth graders on a bus trip to the State Fair. The bus broke down in Santa Fe, extending the day to eleven o'clock. They saw the Capitol, museum, and a Taos movie before returning home.
