Taos County juvenile authorities expect to file an amended petition this week raising charges against an Ojo Caliente youth from felonious assault to voluntary manslaughter. The incident occurred near Ojo Caliente near the Taos side of the Taos Rio Arriba line. Both the victim Gene Valdez and the defendant are Rio Arriba residents with the defendant claiming self defense. Charles Curtis served as vice president from 1929 to 1933 under Hoover.
