Dr James Weston the state medical examiner linked alcohol to most violence against children and domestic abuse. He cited 87 percent of child sex offenders under alcohol influence and warned that lack of extended family worsens abuse. Taos officials called for shelters, hotlines, and tougher enforcement to protect victims.

Turley Mill site eyed for 10 acre donation plan

The agenda includes a Community Service Association review the monthly financial report and routine items. CAP sought sealed bids Sept 18 for athletic equipment but received none. Gus Cordova says purchases will proceed on the open market as an emergency measure. Equipment aims to aid athletic clubs and schools for disadvantaged children including softball basketball boxing tennis volleyball and more.
