L Leroy S Romero 20 and Ida L Lujan 20 of Taos died in a 4 a.m. crash on U.S. 64 near Kirby Ranch when a Mazda pickup veered off the roadway and rolled over after the driver allegedly fell asleep. State finds 1000 marijuana plants near Penasco
State Police spotted about 1,000 four foot tall marijuana plants one mile south of Penasco and arrested an unidentified man of Anglo appearance. Spokesman Capt. John Danko said the man had no ID and would not talk. The find followed a Sept. 16 air sighting as part of a second raid in two weeks.

Twining district vows fix after self monitoring failings
