Anderson given probation in breaking and entering case
District Judge Joseph Caldwell sentenced Malcolm Anderson on Monday to one year on probation for breaking into a home last month. Caldwell deferred an 860month prison term and a $5,000 fine, plus restitution of $25 and 40 hours of community service. Anderson pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and to conspiring with a juvenile. charges of possessing a baggie with less than one ounce of marijuana and contributing to a minor's delinquency were dropped.

Penasco woman injured in two vehicle crash near Ranchos Taos
A Penasco woman, Leonarda M. Roybal, 65, sustained minor injuries in a two vehicle collision near Ranchos, New Mexico, on September 7 around 3 20 p m. Roybal had stopped to turn left on SR 68 near SR 3 when Felipe Tafoya, 23, failed to stop and hit her rear sedan. Tafoya was cited for careless driving.
