Claudine Cisneros, 48, an emergency medical technician, died from a gunshot wound while leaving her Questa home. Her husband Mercedinio Cisneros, unknown, shot himself and remained in critical condition at UNM Hospital. Gail Santistevan drove the car as the sequence unfolded.

Cordova pleads in Des Montes burglary case

Mondragon Granted Bond After Multiple Burglary Pleas
David James Mondragon, free on a ten thousand dollar cash bond, pleaded not guilty to a June 1 burglary at Jackie’s Fruit Stand in El Prado. He was captured July 24 after a break in at Norbert Ortega’s Texaco station in Questa where Ortega fired shotgun pellets as Mondragon fled. Mondragon had previously escaped in June by feigning illness at Holy Cross Hospital. The incidents were consolidated at arraignment. he faces three counts of possession of stolen property including the fruit stand theft and related items.
