One week after a state inspector granted a temporary certificate of occupancy the Taos Municipal Schools opened Arroyos del Norte Elementary for 215 students. Delays stemmed from safety issues raised by the inspector and ongoing construction in the kitchen dining area gym floor and ADA upgrades. Taos High School faces delayed registration and staffing gaps
At Taos High School about 30 percent of roughly 1,150 students failed to pre register last spring. A new computer scheduling system caused delays, leaving halls idle and many classes half full.
