El Prado annexation debate tests Taos area growth
About 75 members of the El Prado Water and Sanitation District met at the National Guard Armory to discuss annexation or other relief from mounting debt. Growth expected in El Prado Ranchitos and Las Colonias includes 200 to 300 new homes in five years. Taos officials consider a large annexation area to ease finances, extending toward the blinking light and Blueberry Hill Road while including parts of Las Colonias and Ranchitos.

Taos graduates lead US to world debate title
Jennifer Rotman a 1994 Taos High School graduate and Cat Horner Bennett THS speech coach guided the United States to first place at the World Debate Championship in New Zealand August 9 18. The US won its 7 1 record defeating Wales Scotland and Pakistan through the knockout rounds with final 4 3 win in Wellington.

Judge scolds agency over withholding CASDV document
