Steven Zough 18 loved basketball and caring for cousins. He died after being stabbed eight times on Oct 13 and on life support for 10 days at Holy Cross Hospital. Family remembers him as kind, meek and devoted to relatives and his 13 month old son Jared.

County to search for new site for village apartments
Taos County will relocate the proposed Taos Village Apartments from near Fred Baca Park after the Planning and Zoning Commission halted the plan. County Manager Samuel Montoya said the Board of Commissioners upheld the halt and will seek a new 18.38 acre site with phased development including a park and homes, amid neighbor concerns over traffic wetlands and density.

Renowned Taos artist Veloy Vigil dies at 66
Veloy J. Vigil, renowned painter and Taos resident since 1980, died Saturday at Holy Cross Hospital from heart failure aged 66. He was a member of the Taos Art Association and Taos Society of Watercolorists, had a 1988 Millicent Rogers Museum retrospective, and belonged to the National Academy of Design. Vigil was listed in Who’s Who in the West and Who Among Hispanic Americans, and was inducted into the Colorado Institute of Art Alumni Hall of Fame four years ago. His works are in museums universities embassies and corporate collections.
