An associate of the Albuquerque law firm of Leon Taylor was to represent Marcia Peralta at an arraignment hearing on 47 counts of embezzlement and 15 counts of forgery. A State audit showed $78,000 unaccounted for in the Questa Independent School District between July 1, 1985 and Sept. 00. Most embezzlement charges involve checks issued to Peralta or endorsed by her with the payee’s name. Some checks were for goods and services to the district, including Sanchez excavation, Questa Auto Parts, and Questa athletic director Andrew Gallegos. Twelve forgery counts involve checks.

FAA funds Taos Municipal Airport expansion plan
The Federal Aviation Administration will provide 50 079 to develop an airport master plan and environmental assessment for Taos Municipal Airport. The town and State Aviation Division will each match 2 782, with work starting October 20 in Albuquerque under Leedshill-Herkenhoff.
