Storm over nude photo show ends with no law banning exhibit

Taos County Transfer Denied for Lodgers Tax Funds

Taos County commissioners sought a temporary cash transfer of about $50,000 from the lodgers tax fund to the general fund but DFA budget analyst Julian Grace says the law forbids such transfers and the stated reason missing. The general fund teeters with about $269,517 on Sept 30 and October payrolls totaling around $166,000.

Three charged in district attorney gang related assault

An adult and two youths face multiple charges after a gang related shooting on October 10. Matthew A. Trujillo, 20, is charged with five counts of aggravated assault and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A 15-year-old Aragon is charged with five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for firing at a truck. The second 15-year-old ranchos de Taos faces aiding and abetting, burglary, larceny, and criminal trespass charges.

Elk season opens with mystery illegal mass kill

Cerro Game and Fish reports a troubling opening day for the 1992 elk season with 13 dead or dying elk found west of Highway 522 near Buena Vista Road on October 11.
