Taos County rolls out T-Cats bus service in November
Taos County plans a $196000 rural bus network named T-Cats to start November 1 with five day a week service from Taos to Questa and Penasco areas. Two 15 passenger vans will run hourly from the courthouse with stops in El Prado Arroyo Seco Taos and Ranchos de Taos and Penasco. Fares 2 for adults 1 for children and disabled riders. Routes serve Molycorp workers and seniors with door to door requests possible for handicapped riders. The project is funded by a $116000 Urban Mass Transportation Act grant with county in kind matches and a three year plan. Six drivers plus a mechanic will be hired. total salaries and benefits budgeted at 43000.

Taos County moved 28,000 from the lodgers tax trust and 20,000 from the lodgers tax fund to finance Sanchez Park lighting.
