A tourist season proposal and council actions are under discussion. Mayor Filemon Sanchez says a meeting at Cudney Studio on Ledoux Street is planned for October 10 at 7 40 pm to decide whether to pursue a parking fines based revenue plan and a new members drive amid 1968 elections context.
The State Corporation Commission schedules a hearing at 9:30 a.m. October 30 in the county courthouse on Richard Gonzales seeking a certificate of convenience and necessity to operate as Taos County Cab. The service would transport passengers within Taos County on irregular routes under non-scheduled service. Attorney for Gonzales is Ella E. Romero.
Mrs. Baca cites public health and drug tas as the only control method for hippies, criticizes police action unless laws are violated, noting there is no official New Buffalo Community evidence of drug users.
The Seaman report notes fagunitas area has several fishing lakes and road completion will raise recreation value. Construction on the project is slated to begin in 1988. The Upper Red River Road survey is nearly done with two other surveys targeted for completion by mid December. All three surveys seek better access and public enjoyment of the forest.

He cites Highway 64 completion, mentions area membership drives in Taos led by Emerson and a Chamber of Commerce stance on a $20,000 yearly goal, with Gov. Cargo backing a private enterprise statewide tourism promotion group.
Tobias F. Garcia died Oct. 2 from injuries in an automobile accident in Chama. Funeral services were Oct. 6 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church after Rosaries on Oct. 4 and 5 at Hanlon's Evergreen Chapel. He is survived by his wife Ermelinda, three daughters, a son, his mother, three sisters and five brothers. burial at Dolores Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Hanlon Funeral Home.
A Small Business Administration representative will be in Taos on October 25 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the county office of the Farmers Home Administration. Persons interested in applying for SBA loans should contact the representative during that time.
Bertha M Trujillo died August 19 in Albuquerque's Presbyterian Hospital at 79. Born March 29 1888 she lived in Ranchitos most of her life. Survived by four daughters Josephine Martinez Albuquerque Mike Olonia Taos Joe D Olonia Santa Fe Isaac C Martinez Reno Nev and sons Tom Taos Frank Reno plus 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and a sister and two brothers. Services at Hanlons Evergreen Chapel under Glen Horn Jehovahs Witnesses with burial in Ranchitos Cemetery. Pallbearers named Faustin Trujillo Lestie Leeder Bill Penner Ernest Montoya Robert Martinez Leroy Trujillo.
