Priest Lipinski Arrested on Rape Charge in Questa

Fr Vincent Lipinski of St Anthony’s Parish was jailed in Questa after a 14 year old boy accused him of rape. He posted $10,000 bond and faces criminal sexual penetration and contributing to the delinquency of a minor charges. A arraignment is set for Oct 15 in Taos Magistrate Court. Lipinski, 31, has led La Iglesia de San Antonio and headed the Youth Advisory Council. attorney Ron Koch plans a not guilty plea. Police probe into possible additional victims continues.

Water seminar gathers NM farmers and officials in Albuquerque

More than 150 farmers ranchers and officials met at the Albuquerque Hilton on September 29 to discuss The Role of Agriculture in State Water Planning. The event previews a Taos conference on November 5 6 sponsored by the New Mexico Water Resources Research Institute to foster dialogue among legislators regulators and agricultural and municipal users to influence water planning for the future.

Taos county ambulance chief named interim Detention Center supervisor

Robert Martinez was named interim ambulance supervisor at Taos County Detention Center on Monday Oct 5 after Jerry Lucero resigned. Taos Pueblo police chief on leave amid battery allegations

Taos Pueblo acting police chief Lawrence Miera remains on paid leave after Ethel Lujan accused him and officer Chris Lefthand of beating her on Sept. 20.
