October movie calendar expands choices at Taos Plaza Theatre

Taos Plaza Theatre owner Bill Whaley unveils a broader October schedule to give moviegoers more films and earlier access. Merilee Dannemann notes Pat Quinn now resides in Arroyo Seco as Robin and Marian screens Sunday into Monday, with early family shows at 7 and late adult shows around 9 15. The Hacienda in Valdez Valley offers veal from Denver with paella nights and a view of autumn leaves, while Taos Community Auditorium features film classics and live events at 8 pm doors open 7:30. Both venues run separate admission for early and late shows, with double feature not offered and intermissions of 20 30 minutes.

Taos deli owner blends family roots with new venture

Sadie and Joe Uranga retire from Lockheed life to run Pepe's Deli on Placitas Road Taos across from Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The old adobe building houses a wide sandwich menu with hot pastrami and roast beef, cheeses, breads, and soups. John Fields manages the shop offering picnic lunches and buffets while Randie Fields teaches nearby. Open daily 11 am to 6 pm except Sunday.
