Traffic deaths in New Mexico rise above 1982 figures
State Transport Department reports 4s fatal traffic incidents through October, 2M fatal accidents year to date with 470 fatalities. Vehicle and truck deaths rise while motorcycle fatalities fall about 20 percent. Trucks caused 302 deaths. 149 were vehicle occupants. Protective device use remains low at about nine percent. Rural and non-interstate areas show higher fatality shares.

Bank returns extra $900 after teller error in Taos
Centinel Bank of Taos mistakenly handed out $900 too much to a customer on Tuesday. The customer did not report the error until authorities were alerted. After police were notified, the borrower surrendered the funds and returned the full $900 to the bank.
