With under two months before filing deadlines, no one has publicly announced a run for Taos town council. Incumbents Andrew Gonzales and Fred Peralta say they have not decided on reelection, citing health and ongoing public service considerations.
Taos County district attorney Donald Gallegos announces another bid for the 2016 race with at least one challenger, Paul Sanchez, a Taos High graduate and ex New Mexico State Police lieutenant gathering signatures for the June 7 Democratic primary ballot. Sanchez plans a stronger presence in Clayton Raton Espanola and Roswell communities.
The Taos News will hit streets next Wednesday with a 196 page Winter Visitor Guide, the largest in the state, followed by the Enchanted Homes Magazine Mountain Retreat Edition. Look for Black Friday sales and the Wishbook launch in Tempo as the holiday season begins.
