Judge tosses out Trujillo civil rights suit in Taos
A district court judge labeled Frank R. Trujillo and Ida J. Trujillo’s civil rights suit against Taos County planning director, the state AG, WELO and others as frivolous. The order required the couple to pay defendants’ attorney fees while exonerating Gomez, DiCicco, Weissbarth, and The Taos News. The Trujillos may appeal the ruling, with Morrison filing a settlement in Taos County district court.

Housing director chosen for Taos County Authority
Taos County commissioners appointed Evelyn Archuleta as executive director of the Taos County Housing Authority after a five month process. She will assume the post on June 1, while Robert Pineda remains acting head until then. The appointment was confirmed May 24. Water at La Vinateria spring may be closed due to EPA standards
The Forest Service plans to stop providing unchlorinated water at La Vinateria in Carson National Forest near Taos after EPA findings of repeat coliform contamination. Residents and supporters met with Forest Service and New Mexico Environment Department officials to seek keeping the spring open.
