Taos motorcycle crash leaves rider with severed leg
In Taos on May 22 a Taos woman Phyllis Pepper 29 riding with Delbert Trujillo 27 was hit head on by a car driven by Raymond Martinez 25 of Talpa crossing the center line. Pepper suffered a traumatic amputation and was hospitalized in stable condition at Holy Cross Hospital. Martinez cited for DWI and reckless driving. Trujillo cited for suspended license.

Pool Closure Extended Amid Roof Repairs and Paint Work
Town manager Carlos Miranda says the municipal pool remains closed longer than planned to accommodate a roof repair and interior painting. A change order approved last week will allow painting inside the pool building and select fixtures with special chlorine resistant paint, possibly starting as early as June 8 and finishing in about two weeks, with a tentative reopening around June 20.
