The Con cerned Parents Association will hold monthly gatherings with a summer break when school is out. The next CPA meeting is scheduled for May 22.
Taos County Commission releases final and postponed uses of its revenue sharing, with over 300000 due from state taxes, cuts to Harwood Library and ambulance garage, 200 grant for County Fair, and several large requests postponed amid new federal guidelines.
Vigil reported Saturday that conditions look good for melting snow in the mountains while state official Phil Mutz said last week's Taos storm adding about half an inch of moisture is normal for this period and not a flood threat. He warned that two inches of moisture on the watershed could cause problems and urged residents to monitor KKIT and KXRT for daily flood watches.
Dr. Al Rosen, founder of La Clinica in Rancho, asked the district attorney to stop a charity dance at El Padrino Lounge after learning La Clinica had not been contacted about the event. The Cosmic Showers organized the night, planned to cover $120 expenses, and donate any excess to the clinic but did not specify what portion would go to the charity. The IRS requires clear disclosure of a charity’s share for donors to deduct taxes. Rosen said La Clinica had been misused in similar benefits at least four times previously.
