Taos Ousts Serna as Athletic Director

Taos municipal schools have ousted Ray Serna from the athletic director post though he will stay on as a physical education teacher. A new candidate search is underway with no internal applicants as of May 12. Ramming loses appeal on conspiracy convictions

John Ramming, Taos resident and former governor's aide, had his conviction on 18 counts for misappropriating 2.8 million in disaster relief funds upheld by the New Mexico Court of Appeals on May 12. He faces up to three years if he does not act within 20 days and may pursue further appeal or rehearing.

Alcohol test back in Taos Canyon crash case

A blood alcohol report for Luke Atencio is completed and sent to the district attorney. Assistant DA Frank Padilla refused to reveal results while the investigation into the April 21 crash near the Taos Junction Bridge continues. He said Atencio was rescued after the wreck and Mrs. Atencio died. the child's body remains missing.

AG probes Taos Magistrate Herrera in records inquiry

The attorney general’s office investigates court records in Taos amid claims by Flavio Albert Romero that a November 11 filing against Magistrate Judge Walter Herrera was backdated to meet a one year limit. Gonzales dismissed the charge in March. KOAT-TV reported the probe.
