Abad Martinez, Taos County Agent, was announced as a recipient of the 1967 Dow chemical study tour for New Mexico, joining 10 other agents on a tour of marketing firms farms and extension programs across six western states ending June 23 at Fort Collins. A large quantity of liquor and cigarettes were taken from La Fonda Liquor Store. Formal charges against a 17yearold Canon juvenile and a 23yearold Santa Fe man are pending further investigation by Assistant District Attorney John B. Sanchez. The two, apprehended by Town Patrolman Pat Ortiz early last Thursday, are held on breaking and entering and disorderly conduct charges. Officer Ortiz would not disclose arrest details.

Two youths arrested in separate burglaries will appear before Dist. Judge C R McIntosh later in May. One offender connected to the La Fonda Liquor Store burglary is set to appear May 22, the other linked to Gon Mar Clothes Store will appear May 23. Police say about half of 1100 dollars in merchandise was recovered. Investigations also continue into Rohrbaugh's Jewelry Store burglary with about 7000 dollars in jewelry missing.
