Margaret Gonzales of Questa, UNM Woman Athlete of the Year 1976, will headline the May 19 Questa High School Athletic Banquet at 6 30 p m. Don Perkins will discuss The Importance of Athletics in Education. Also installing the Questa Athletic Boosters Club officers May 14, the group plans fundraisers and meetings at 7 p m on the third Wednesday.

Taos Tigers win big at Los Lunas meet district bounds
Taos High School boys track earned 112 points at the Los Lunas Invitational, finishing third behind Socorro and Los Lunas. Danny Trujillo, Fred Archuleta, and Manuel Pacheco led with multiple firsts including Trujillo in the 40-yard dash and Archuleta in the 880-yard dash. Pacheco won the javelin with 153 feet 1 inch, while Abeyta, Lujan, and others posted seconds, and the team set for the District 2AAA Meet in West Las Vegas.
