Taos Junior Chess Club Places 24th at Nationals
Taos Junior Chess Club finished 24th in the 1989 National Elementary School Chess Championships held April 28 to 30 in Tempe Arizona. In their first year the Taos team competed in the reserve section of the meet with 319 players from 102 schools. 300 schools from 37 states participated overall. Coach Dennis Hedges called the result a perfect finish to a great trip.
