Taos High cooks showcased at thank you lunch event
Taos High School culinary arts instructor Benjie Apodaca hosted a March 18 thank you lunch for the Great Chefs of Taos. Students prepared three events including a ProStart competition and a baking contest while a $1,000 check aided the culinary program. Attendees included UNM Taos director Kate O Neill and Mayor Darren Cordova, lunch featured onion soup, goat cheese Kiev and a strawberry tart as chefs discussed costs and the restaurant business amid a cautious economy.
