Taos Pueblo Youth Die In Night Crash
Ronald J. Cordova, 17, died when the car he drove failed to turn on Upper Ranchitos Road Friday night March 18 near Taos Pueblo. Four passengers were aboard. Patsy Trujillo, 22, and Pat Lujan, 18, were treated and released at Holy Cross Hospital, police say the driver tried to avoid a dog and lost control at high speed. Minor tailings line break at Molycorp. little damage reported
A second break in less than two weeks occurred Sunday March 20 at 4 30 am near the Molycorp tailings line. Officials say a herm barrier largely contained the spill into the Red River, about 500 pounds entering the river for ten minutes before repairs. Red River fish hatchery foreman Jim Standifer says the spill apparently did no hatchery damage.
