Jon Pattison Wins Ski Honor at Taos
Fifteen year old Jon Pattison of Taos earned national recognition for the best racing performance in recent Junior NASTAR competition at Taos Ski Valley. He ran the slalom in 92.3 seconds, yielding a national handicap of 28, placing him among the top young ski racers in the country. Gerry Blue of Amarillo, Texas, posted the second best time with a 34.0 second run and a handicap of 35. The junior rating program collects times from more than 86 top ski areas then compares them in Aspen to issue each racer a national handicap reflecting progress toward the best in the nation.
