Rose Lovato Martinez, daughter of Demecio Lovato and Matilde Rodriguez Lovato, recalls a life spanning Chamisal and Pefiasco in New Mexico. Mountain lion eludes Santa Fe game officers after lookout near downtown
New Mexico Department of Game and Fish hunted Tuesday for a mountain lion suspected to live in a Santa Fe neighborhood around Don Gaspar Avenue and Cordova Road. Spokesman Dan Williams said biologists saw the lion but could not capture it, noting it appears healthy at about 150 pounds and may have been living there for some time. He urged residents to protect pets and children at night, secure food and trash, and light yards before stepping outside.

Cancer survivor Priscilla Frondarina to walk 60 miles for Komen
Priscilla Frondarina, a 17 year cancer survivor from Red River, will join the Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure. The three day 60 mile walk aims to raise funds for cancer research with a $5 000 goal.
