Taos County trims staff to tackle looming deficit
County Manager Samuel Montoya announced Friday that Taos County will lay off several workers and switch two full-time positions to part-time to stabilize finances. Emergency services faced a nearly 60 thousand dollar shortfall as two mechanics and a billing clerk lost jobs, while others were reassigned or offered separation with rehiring planned for July 1.
