Hobbs Lists Cases For Past Two Weeks

Justice Hobbs docket covers two weeks of traffic citations from Precinct One. Manuel Mirabal of Ranchero was fined 10 dollars plus costs for no license and 10 dollars plus costs for disobeying a citation after repeated court summons. Robert L. Keary of Albuquerque paid 20 dollars plus costs for failure to use due care while driving. Ernesto Roubal of Chamisal was fined 10 dollars plus costs for allowing an unauthorized person to drive. Miss Roybal and Mario E. Martinez faced penalties for learner permit violations and driving with no license, with multiple fines recorded. Hannah Suazo of Pilar paid 25 dollars plus costs for no passing zone violations. Sarah H. Green of Taos was fined 25 dollars plus costs for careless driving after claiming eye injury. J A Dominguez Jr. of Albuquerque was charged with speeding 60 in a 35 zone, fined 25 dollars plus costs. Luis Vigil of Taos faced 20 dollars plus costs for a yellow line violation linked to passing and no passing zone.

Former Countian story reveals grisly murder details

Tony Reyes described a 1960 killing involving his brother and two women in Questa. The body was wrapped, burned, and later bones were buried or hidden across sites near Red River Eagle Nest and Cimarron. Investigators and highway patrol personnel recovered bones during follow up as Reyes led them to burial spots.

Principal Attends NASSP Meeting in St Louis

Sister M. Liliosa, principal of Central Catholic High School, attended the National Association of Secondary School Principals annual meeting in St. Louis February 24 to 28. The event, held at Kiel Auditorium, focused on The Role of Education in Achieving National Goals amid global threats to liberty and freedom. Concurrently, the Sisters of Loretto held their own meeting at Webster College in St. Louis.

Taos Winter Sports Club Meets at Sipapu Ski Area

Taos Winter Sports Club held a pot-luck supper and night skiing at Sipapu Ski Area last Friday with a brief business meeting. Hosts were Mr and Mrs Lloyd Bolander. Local Teacher Dies In Wreck Near Questa

Taos County educator Joe A. Vialpando 48 of Taos was killed in a vehicle wreck north of Questa around 9 46 p m Monday blamed on blowing snow and slick roads. He taught at Costilla and was returning to Taos when his 1957 Chevrolet pickup skidded off the highway and rolled. Survived by wife Mae and four children, parents, two sisters and a half brother. Funeral services set for 8 am today at Central Catholic Gym with burial in Sierra Vista Cemetery Garcia Funeral Home in charge.

Rabies Clinic Set for Taos

Taos Animal Shelter announces a two day rabies clinic for all dogs in Taos County to be held in Taos on Friday and Saturday April 6 and 7. State law requires annual rabies shots with a reduced fee of two dollars, down from three, to be announced at the event.

Grade School Tournament Opens Friday At Taos County

The Taos County Elementary School Basketball Tournament begins Friday at 9 a.m. in the Central Catholic gym, with 15 games across two divisions. Schools include Amalia Costilla Cerro, Arroyo Hondo, Arroyo Seco, Ranchos, Ligno, Talpa and Tres Piedras. Championship games Saturday night. two traveling trophies at stake, juniors funded by Plaza Super Market and midgets by Blue Lake Sporting Goods.
