Vargas Eyes State Senate Run Against Trujillo

Phil Vargas director of Rural Legal Services is very strongly inclined to run against incumbent C. B. Trujillo in the June State Senate primary. Vargas, 39, a Democrat, says he has been approached by friends about the race and has not yet decided if he will run, noting he might have to resign his legal aid post to campaign.

New Mexico Extension Homemakers Offer Two $150 Scholarships

The New Mexico Extension Homemakers Council offers two $150 scholarships for 4-H club members who are upperclassmen majoring in agriculture or home economics and residents of New Mexico. Applications for 1972-73 are due in April and may be obtained from New Mexico universities or Mrs. L. L. Daley at 112 Meazar NE, Albuquerque.

Foreign students set Taos tour by Rotary hosts

A group of 24 foreign students from four countries, now studying in Denver, arrive in Taos on March 15 for a Rotary Club hosted tour. They visit Taos Pueblo and Los Alamos energy installation, tour Santa Fe and Canadian art centers, and end with a banquet before departing March 19 via Air Force Academy Chapel stop. Accompanying hosts include Mr and Mrs William Price.
