Taos Service Clubs Host Joint Meeting At Kachina Lodge

Over 100 Taos service club members attended the annual joint meeting hosted by the Lions Kiwanis and Rotary at Kachina Lodge. Speaker Cap Parkinson of Las Vegas district governor spoke on service clubs abroad and American reports. Plans for boxing program and a Rotary town lighting project were presented along with a mail delivery initiative to reach Taos by summer.

Bake Sale To Benefit PTA Plans

Taos citizens Mrs. Volney Ambrose and Mrs. Hazel Holmes organize a bake sale for Taos Elementary School Playground Improvement Fund. The event runs Friday and Saturday at Plaza Supermarket and Taos Supermarket starting 9 30 p m Friday with all day Saturday. Contributions and volunteers are urged via phone calls to the organizers.

The Taos Home Extension Club unveils a $100 scholarship for Taos High or Central Catholic High students or other deserving youths. Taos Teachers Gather For Annual Convention

Obituary: Sabino Mondragon Dies at Home

Sabino Mondragon of Ranchos died at his home Tuesday afternoon. In his late 60s he served in France in World War I. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Montezuma Barracks, and was a well known cattle and sheep grower.
