Taos County One-Third Vote in Primary Election
Taos County voters turnout about 33 percent for the primary. Local results favor Colin McMillan for U S Senate with 565 votes and Bruce King’s GOP challengers Gregg Bemis 432 and Garrett Pauls 238. Luna leads governor Democratic race with 2 255 votes, over King 1 474 and Baca 1 211. Republicans Cargo 261 and Cheney 245 lead governor race. Madrid tops lieutenant governor for Democrats with 2 010 votes. GOP Carrara leads second highest office with 390. Dem Gallegos remains strong for corporation commissioner with 2 142. Vigil-Giron dominates secretary of state race locally 2 981 to 1 316. Powell leads commissioner of public lands with 2 833.
